The Guilty Pleasures of Attention Seekers

This is a guest post by Natasha Botkin, an Intuitive Behavioral Energy Healer/Teacher

Have you ever really sat back and pondered the insistent need of social media.  Or rather the person who posts every detail of their life on social media.  Social media has provided a nuance of narcissism that emotes the ego’s impression more is better.  The more I seek attention the better this is more me or rather that is what the ego tries to persuade one to believe.  This is a false belief.

The soul psychology is failing to see what is truly missing from this aspect.  Do we deserve to celebrate our successes?  Absolutely, we do!  However, the point is to ponder the need.  What is missing?

You, are the missing key.  The notion of being self-centered or selfish is typically frowned upon.  Let’s take this from a different aspect-a centering of self.  One who is centered is happily peaceful from the inside out.  Therefore, there is no need to shout out to others every feature of their existence.  It is the quiet notion that one is grand, satisfied and grateful for what is gifted from the divine.

A happy person does not declare, “I am HAPPY!” Rather this is shown through their actions and not in their words.  For example, is there someone who quietly shares a photo on social media?  For me, I have a friend who often shares a snap of a photo and through her photos you can feel her: a happy sunflower to the frosted meadow. It is the quiet stillness deep within the soul that offers a peaceful support, and the need for outside attention is not a prime necessity.  Rather it is a peaceful existence of happy reverie.  So, before proclaiming- I must post this,  stop and place your hand over your heart and ask, “Do I need acceptance, pity, what.”  Then, walk away.  Yes, step away and allow the divine answer to begin to light and dance from within. In a second, a minute, an hour, a day, a week, a month and a year later will this matter. Only then shall you post as needed.
